Tote Boxes

Plastic returnable containers

If your business operates a closed-loop supply chain, moves large volumes of parts, or needs a solution for easy in-plant handling, tote boxes are essential.

Plastic tote boxes are returnable containers typically manufactured using moulded plastics or Correx®. Designed for safe storage, handling and transportation of parts or products, they are suitable for both manual and automated handling. Plastic tote boxes are popular in automotive, aerospace, warehousing, industrial and logistics applications.

At GWP Correx®, we have been plastic tote manufacturers for over 20 years. We supply both industry-standard Euro containers and bespoke Correx® totes, which we design and manufacture in-house. We can also customise any plastic returnable containers your business uses with a range of inserts, dividers, lids and exterior printing.

FAQs

What is the difference between a tote box and a tote bin?

Although the use of the terms “tote box” and “tote bin” varies by industry, there can be confusion about their meanings. Tote boxes are typically containers, often with a lid, used for transporting and handling items. Bins, however, usually have an open front to allow items to be easily removed (such as picking bins).

What size tote boxes are available?

Whilst moulded plastic euro containers are only available in a range of industry-standard sizes, custom Correx® tote boxes allow you to specify them to almost any size and shape. This flexibility makes them a perfect solution for nonstandard or oversized components, parts, or assemblies. However, it remains vital to consider the overall weight and ease of handling.

Can I benefit from adding dividers and inserts to tote boxes?

You can add dividers to virtually any shipping tote or multi-trip packaging product. They can help minimise damage by preventing parts from moving during transit. They can assist with manual stock checks with quick visual inspections. They can aid production operatives by allowing them to retrieve items more quickly from inside. And they also improve shipping and handling efficiency by allowing you to fit more parts into an outer tote safely.

Is it safe to stack tote boxes?

The majority of both Correx® totes and Euro containers feature stacking rims or corners. This feature allows for much more efficient storage and transit, although it can mean storing empty totes takes up more space than collapsible options (which typically do not stack).

Can tote boxes feature company branding?

You can specify printing to add branding and logos to any tote box. Doing so gives your business a presence throughout the supply chain, effectively providing free advertising at suppliers’ and/or customers’ premises. Besides this, you can use print to add part numbers, special handling instructions and other information that may assist your employees.
